Accident with FedEx Subcontractor – Is It Worth Suing?

How are you…

I had an accident with a FedEx truck recently. The owner of the fleet has offered to cover all the damages to my truck and trailer. Both my niece and I are okay, just dealing with sore backs.
A friend of mine had a similar situation and ended up suing, getting around $6,000 after lawyer fees. I’m wondering if it’s worth going through all the legal stuff to possibly get a similar amount. I’m thinking it might end up being less, and after a year or two of legal proceedings, I might only get around $2,000.
Do you think it’s worth pursuing legal action, or should I just accept the damages covered by the fleet owner? I can provide more details if needed. TiA
